The relativity of words

I wish I had a real-life ContextBot.

For some reason I can’t see the image, but the statement, “I wish I had a real-life ContextBot,” made me say, “Yes,” as soon as I read it. Of course my wonky eyes thought it was BoX instead of BoT. Oh well.
    Be well,

      Hi Kina.

Thanks for your comment and welcome to my blog.

I don’t know why you can’t see the image. It is in .png format and it isn’t actually located on my blog but on xkcdhere and shared via the image URL share link for hotlinking/embedding. I’ve tried to empty my cache to see if I could make the image not show in the post for myself, but it shows …. ….. ….. anyway that’s behind the scene stuff, which I shouldn’t bore readers with. I’ll see if I can work it out.

Great that you can see the image.

Re. the ContextBot … Yes that’s what I thought too. A real life ContextBot would make a massive difference in conversations (and maybe even bring world peace! 😉

It is overwhelming how many different things a sentence can mean depending on the context in the speaker’s mind. The apparent popularity of lengthy casual chatting between acquaintances is not easy to understand given the almost 100% guarantee for misunderstandings / people talking past each other when they don’t know each other well.

Too true, especially when you consider how difficult communication is, even between those who know each other well. There should also be a BackstoryBot that can provide a bullet pointed outline of the events in a person’s life that led to their conclusions and reasonings. That would be nice.

It may have been something to do with my computer. There has been at least one other site I’ve visited recently where all I saw was the tiny little placeholder box. I’m tecnologically delayed and have no idea what it was that may have caused it on my end, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
